Former Delta Central lawmaker, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, now Senior Political Adviser (SPOLAD) to the Executive Governor of Delta State, has been elected the new President General (PG) of Ibru College Old Students’ Association (ICOSA) Worldwide.
He was elected in an unopposed election held at the at the Ibru College Dining Hall in Agbarha-Otor, Ughelli North LGA, on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
Speaking shortly after the election, Chairman of the at the swearing of the election, which was held on the sideline of the annual convention of ICOSA Worldwide, Mr Charles Oniyere, commended the outgoing executive for their transparency and advised the new executive to build on their achievements.
He noted that the new executive was elected unopposed due to their dedication to serving humanity.
Immediate past PG, Mr. Kenneth Nakpodia, praised Aguariavwodo and other members for their support during his tenure.
In his acceptance speech, Aguariavwodo thanked everyone for the confidence reposed in him and promised to continue the good work of the previous administration.
He stated that his administration would do more, in line with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s agenda, and reach out to all alumni to bring them together.
The newly elected PG said any one who passed through the school one way or another is a bonafide old student of the school, and that all old students should come together to do more for the great college.
The newly elected officers of ICOSA Worldwide include: Sen. Emmanuel Aguariavwodo (President General), Amb. Fred Nohwo (Deputy President General 1), Hon. Deacon Solomon Adjedjevwe (Deputy President General 2), Rev. Pius Omoro (Deputy President General 3), Deacon James Ochuko Ayomavoro (Secretary General), Chief Kant Duku (Assistant Secretary General), Lady Ann Clarke (Treasurer), Comr. Mike Eyanmekware (Welfare & Social Secretary), and Barr. Sylvester Akpodeh (Legal Adviser).
Aguariavwodo’s election is seen by all old students of the school as a significant development for ICOSA Worldwide, and his leadership is expected to strengthen the organization.
As a senior aide to the Governor of Delta State, he has demonstrated his commitment to public service and is expected to bring his expertise to his new role.
The event was a testament to the strong bond among Ibru College alumni, and Aguariavwodo’s leadership is expected to further unite the community.
